In a tragic incident caught on camera, a 21-year-old college student collapsed on Saturday and passed away when she was practicing a ramp walk for an upcoming event in college. Peenya Police said she is suspected to have suffered a cardiac arrest.  The entire incident was recorded in the CCTV cameras in the college. According to reports, the woman has been identified as Shalini, a first-year student at the Acharya Institute of Medical Sciences who used to reside in Lakshminarayanapura near Srirampura in Bengaluru. "The student died while practising ramp walk for the freshers' day celebration in her college. The cause of death is suspected to be cardiac arrest. She was standing near the stage after her turn when she fell to the ground," Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru North, Shashi Kumar said. "The other students immediately took her to the nearest hospital, where she was declared brought dead," Kumar added. According to ANI, Peenya police have registered a case under section 174(c) of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The section deals with investigating the cause of natural deaths when the Station House Officer of the local police intimates the executive magistrate to inquire about an unnatural death. The incident comes after another similar tragedy was reported in July when standup comic Manjunath Naidu collapsed and died on stage in Dubai. In that incident, the 36-year-old comedian was performing for a packed audience at the Signature hotel, when he complained of high anxiety and sat down on the bench next to him on the stage, and immediately collapsed onto the floor.  However, the audience thought it as a part of his set, since it was just minutes after he began his act, where he spoke about how he suffers from anxiety. In May, in a similar tragic incident, a Kerala policeman collapsed midway while singing on stage.  Vishnuprasad, a Sub-Inspector in Thiruvananthapuram was singing to a house full of relatives on the eve of his youngest daughter’s wedding. He was declared dead when he was taken to the hospital.
